"It's been a long road... lucky for us, we've been in the water."

The Spruce Creek Fly Co. began in the dining room of my mentor, Skip Galbraith. Our plan was to simply tie flies and sell them. We began tying in December and opened the doors to our fly shop on April 1st with 500 dozen flies and never stopped tying from that day on.

The shop over the next few years went through several changes and continued to grow. Eventually, the shop was targeted by a large corporation in the business, and an offer was made to purchase the retail portion of SCFC

This transition allowed the Spruce Creek Fly Co. to become a full guide based operation focused solely on the introduction of anglers to the tremendous resources found in central Pennsylvania. The growth continued and progressed upon meeting my wife, Tracey.

As a fitness professional and Holistic Wellness Coach she lives and teaches a holistic wellness concept. The idea of combining our talents and forces was not only unique but essential. Our Fly Fishing Wellness Retreats were born and the success has been tremendous.

As partners in this company we not only share the passion for our individual careers but the appreciation of the enhancement of our combined talents. Our partnership has allowed for more doors to open and together we have the support to walk through them. From guiding to Wellness Retreats; Fly Tying Schools to writing, our drive and dedication is reflected in our service to our clientele and will hopefully assure the best experience they can hope for. Together we will continue to promote and in turn, hopefully protect and enhance this region by writing, guiding and showcasing our incredible waters and services to all who can enjoy them.

Eric has solidified his reputation as one of the premier guides in the east. Years of repeat customers are testimony to his ever evolving techniques and skill. His dedication to the great sport of fly fishing is confirmed each year by the average, 100 guided days in central Pennsylvania and Southwest Montana. Eric"s knowledge and passion extends well beyond guiding. As the official instructor of the Regal Engineering Fly Tying School in Pennsylvania, Eric has the opportunity to share in his knowledge of fly tying and the entomology that enhances any Eastern Fly Fishing experience. An accomplished writer and presenter with feature articles in Fly Fisherman Magazine and Eastern Fly Fishing, Eric Stroup offers the Total Fly Fishing Experience.

Tracey L. Stroup Bio

Tracey has a B.S. Degree in Exercise & Sports Science from the Pennsylvania State University and is a Holistic Nutritional Consultant. She is also the President and owner of Trained by Tracey, Inc., an online fitness consulting and life coaching company for the adult population and the Healthy Kidz Club, an exercise and nutrition program for children 5 to 18 years. Recent experiences in Montana have prompted Tracey to become a high altitude conditioning specialist developing exercise and nutrition programs for serious hunters who want to be in top form for their experience out west. Mrs. Stroup brings over 15 years experience as a Fitness Professional in health and wellness for individuals, children, specialty groups and corporations.
